It is a type of underglaze painted porcelain and also one of the earliest invented methods in Chinese ceramic decoration. It is one of the four major production bases of blue and white porcelain in China and one of the main production areas for exported ceramics. In 2010, Dabu was awarded the title of "Characteristic Region of China's Blue and White Porcelain Hometown" by the China Ceramic Industry Association. In 2015, “Dabu Blue and White Ceramics” successfully obtained the "National Geographical Indication Certification Trademark" issued by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. In 2016, “Dabu blue and white porcelain” was approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision. Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China as a "National Geographical Indication Protected Product". In 2019, the Dabu Ceramic Cultural and Creative Industry Park was successfully established as a provincial-level cultural industry demonstration park and the ceramic industry base was recognized as a national-level foreign trade transformation and upgrading base.
